World And Setting¶
Scaedumar is set in a fictional low-infrastructure northern survival world.
The setting is not a direct historical reconstruction. It draws from terrain, weather, handmade technology, animal relations, seasonal movement, and local knowledge rather than from a single real culture.
Material World¶
Tools should feel understandable and repairable. A useful object belongs to wood, hide, fiber, bone, stone, clay, metal, fire, time, and practice.
The player relies on:
- senses and memory
- terrain reading
- animal behavior
- weather signs
- condition and carried tools
- local routes, shelter, water, and food
Pressure¶
The world should make survival concrete.
Useful pressure comes from wet ground, long distance, limited daylight, fatigue, thirst, hunger, tracks, missing knowledge, and changing routes. A place matters because it changes what people and animals can depend on.
Mystery¶
The game can support spiritual language without turning every mystery into a simple spell or rule.
A ritual may be a social practice, inherited ecological knowledge, a way to focus attention, a hallucination, or a real contact with another form of mind. Different characters can hold different interpretations.
